Street Life Portraiture

One day in Pisa

Italy, 2008

Did you know that although the Tower of Pisa was intended to stand vertically, it began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundation and loose substrate that has allowed the foundation to shift direction?

When you think of portrait photography, what do you think of first?  Passport or application photos?  It's more like going to a dentist rather than having a little love affair?  God beware!  Studio portraiture photography with strobe lights, powerful flashes and artificial backgrounds are cool things that mankind invented.  But I prefer most of the time fresh air, natural light and real backgrounds.  On the street you often have to improvise because some funny people are running randomly through your background.  But often this makes a photo look even better.
